Two men claim to have found a legendary Nazi train that had vanished during the last few weeks of World War II. This train was rumored to contain gems,  precious metals and gold!

One Pole and one German wanted to file a “finder’s claim” with the local council as they claimed to have found the infamous train. Treasure hunters can keep 10% of the value of their find, under Polish law.

The area where it was found hasn’t been excavated before. The ghost train is said to have been dispatched by the Nazis from Wroclaw when the Soviet Red Army was making its final march toward Berlin. The train vanished somewhere in the mountains near between Poland and the Czech Republic according to local legend.

There are a few different theories about what happened to the train. One story says the train entered a tunnel just north of Walbrzych and never came out. Later the tunnel was later sealed up and forgotten. Some think it may have been booby-trapped with mines.

Others rumors say that the Nazis dug miles of tunnels in southwest Poland leading some to think that’s where they stash treasure for safekeeping.

This fascinating story is just one of many involving our beloved gems.
