The Pala Chief Dig is held only twice a month from October to June!

Located in beautiful Pala, California the Pala Chief is one of the oldest gem mines in San Diego County. Come see us at one of the only historic mines still being actively worked in the hunt for all American crystals and gemstones.

This Pala Chief Dig is a free style one. Bring your own tools and dig your own way through our vast mine. Search for pegmatites and attack them with heavy tools on this fun dig!  Due to the rugged uphill walking on this one we suggest only miners 12 years of age and older join in.

Reservations are required (At least 48 hours in advance).
