Cat’s Eye describes a gemstone, that when polished has a thin strip of light going across the width of the stone. This gives the stone a cat’s eye effect. The most common form of Cat’s Eye is Chrysoberyl. Other stones that have Cat’s Eye are Tourmaline, Quartz, Aquamarine, Moonstone, Apatite, and Scapolite. Of all of these Chrysoberyl is the hardest and has the most distinct Cat’s Eye. Cat’s Eye can be found in Brazil, India, China, and Zimbabwe.
