Kunzite is a gem variety of the mineral Spodumene. Kunzite is pink to light purple in color, and is the main gem variety of Spodumene. Kunzite was first discovered by George F. Kunz in 1902 in Pala, California. Kunzite is regarded as an evening stone, due to it’s fading colors in prolonged sunlight. The two varieties of Kunzite are Blue Kunzite, and Yellow Kunzite.
